Saint Rita of Cascia was born in Italy. She wanted to be a nun but she was encouraged to marry at a young age. She had two sons and her husband was killed in a fight. After her husband and her sons unfortunately died she tried to become a nun but she was turned away at first because she was a widow. However, after some time they allowed her to join. St. Rita is the Patron Saint of difficult marriages, impossible causes, infertility and parenthood. Her Feast Day is May 22nd.
